§ 89
8. At the close, on the part of a proviso comes a
passage clause by which the inutility of some of the preceding clauses
with their entanglements is demonstrated. The intention
it appears now is – not only that whole ships come
together, but any single person entitled should if
thrown by accident within distance report, if he pleases
to the Hospital, and notwithstanding all "investments", receive
there whatever may be his due. But to render
the more clear, the order of the words will require as usual to be
changed.
"If .... "by reason of any change of ship or other cause" .... If any person .... entitled to share in such ....
"monies shall apply" (i.e. if to any such person
so it has happened that by reason of any such cause,
he has while the ship he belonged to is at too great a distance
been brought into a situation by which he is enabled
to apply_ "for such his .... share .... to the Treasurer",
.... he (the Treasurer) may "direct" a sufficient part
of any such payment to be made to him, viz in
the manner which it then proceeds to state: in a word
is immediately or out of the monies
so lodged or invested as above.
