§ 89

Doubt and confusion reign triumphant in this
Section – everything teems with confusion, everything
teems with doubt. Throughout the course of the one and same
sentence, various scenes, indefinite in number indeterminate
are going on at the same time.

"The Treasurer of the said Hospital" – him we know.
But his Deputy or Deputies who are he or they? At
the Hospital the Treasurer has one deputy – the one
deputy so often mentioned – is it that one?

But the said Treasurer – with allowance by
law viz by §. of this Act he has a Deputy at each of a multitude of
Posts or Places within the United Kingdom: – he
has moreover without any such allowance by law he has moreover
other in a absolutely not one such Deputy stationed at each of the Courts of Vice Admiralty
Courts wheresoever their respective stations are: in at Gibraltar,
Malta, the West Indies, the East Indies and so forth.
under and Every thing turns hinges upon time.
In regard to time nothing can be more widely different
than the circumstances of the several cases thus
simultaneously by a sort of phantasmagoric brough to view: and for the exhibition all the
its assemblage aggregate of discordant circumstances, this one
Section, nor that comparatively a very long one, is
to be made to serve.
