§. 95
After these observations, procedure to the variants exhibited
by this second mass of unwieldy involved and useless
complication.
1. In the sort of place now in question, viz. where a
place which is not the residence of any such Treasurer's
Agent as aforesaid, "by Letter or otherwise, application "for such share of balance" is
in the first place to be made at the Royal Greenwich Hospital, but viz. to
any one of those Official persons; viz. Treasurer, (Secretary
now for the first time mentioned) or a Clerk of the Cheque.
2. In consequence of such application, the applicant
called here also on each occasion the claimant,
"shall thereupon", (some how or other, at some time or other,)
"if necessary, be furnished" (it is said) "by such Treasurer
"Clerk of the Cheque or Secretary with blank
"Petitions or Forms".
3. These Petition or Forms what and
how many soever they may be, are somehow or other and
at some time or other, "to be filled up and attested
by a person or set of persons the choice of whom at the price of
not being compleated by the Act would in case of
doubt remain to be compleated by the usual process and
at the most usual expense.
"By the Minister, Churchwardens or Elders of
"the Parish in which such Claimant .... shall reside:
these are the words of the Act.
Grammatical respect of the phrase, – either by the
Minister alone, or by the Churchwardens, all of them,
where there are Churchwardens, or by the Elders, all of them
where there are none but Elders.
