☞ Add. On the applicants duplicate should be marked at the office
the time and by whom the Government Officers duplicate
was put into the post or otherwise transmitted.
The The above is not the only passage which prevents the sort a person
of instruments such as those in question from being without a solecism
named by any such appellation as that of duplicates,
But At the conclusion of this shapeless mass, comes
a direction other in which it is said "otherwise" you
(viz upon the fulfilment of the several conditions specified
as above in the text and thereupon in this Form),
"otherwise you are to return this Bill to the Treasurer
"of the said Royal Hospital".
Now the if the two corresponding instruments here
spoken of under the name of duplicates, these will in
the case in question be always one in relation to which
the direction thus given will always be capable of being
fulfilled: the one which the Receiver General for example
of a County has having received from the Greenwich, Treasurer is in possession of
it will be in his power to retransmitt to the same place.
But another there is in relation to which the fulfilment
of this same direction will commonly be impossible: viz.
the one which was or at least ought to have
been transmitted much about the same time to the Applicant
much abut the same time: for in In general it
is only because this last mentioned Bill, not having
been presented to is not in the possession of the Offices of
Government, that the other which came into and is in
his possession is to be returned retransmitted.
