§. 105

6. Lastly At the last of this Section comes a clause which
seems not to be altogether expressive will be found
expressive of somewhat more than it was probably intended meant to
express, and which by some accident seems to have
slipt out of its place.

"And the Treasurer of the Navy" (it is said)
"shall quarterly cause an Account to be sent of the
amount of such expences to the Treasurer of Greenwich
Hospital, who shall immediately cause the same
to be paid to the order of the Treasurer of the Navy.

By the words "such expenses" must unquestionably
be meant the self-same aggregate object
for the designation of which the words "such remunerations
and expenditures" the variationhere in the terms not having
for its object purpose cause any such wish as that of presenting
in the object of them any diversity in the ideas as that of preventing
to mens obedience any difference in the rule of
action in the two cases, but nor any thing but
that the never failing exuberance of the learned penmans draughtsmans eloquence, and
that disdain generous of those dull rules
of the observance of which plain mere precision and certainty
would be the only fruit.
