Prize 1805. 1809: 1805 §
Sect. 94. In this Section power is given to the
Greenwich Treasurer "to appoint..." at such posts and
"places of the within the denoted Kingdom as he
"shall from time to time think necessary", ....
"such person or persons as he may think fit to be
"his Deputy or Deputies", .... "for receiving applications
"and claims for Prize" (monies) "and Bounty monies....
Over and above these Deputies resident at the Out Posts
within the United Kingdom, this same Official person
has (it seems) or at any time may have, a Deputy or Deputies at in every
place without the Kingdom where there is a Vice Admiralty Court. The
source from this this article of intelligence is derived is a
preceding Section in this same Act viz. §. 87; in
which, on the appli speaking of settlements and so forth
And abroad, and in a word of any place out
of the United Kingdom in which any there exists a person or
acting as Prize Agent, there as also a Vice
Admiralty Court, order is taken for the remitting
of payme to the Greenwich Treasurer at Greenwich
unclaimed shares and balances. The person through
whom this business may be done and at whose
application this business is to be done, and through
whom it may be done is "the Deputy of the Treasurer
"of Greenwich Hospital there resident".
