In the Act of 1805 the mass of legislative matter
that took for its subject that part of the business of the
Chelsea Establishment which corresponds with that of the
Greenwick Establishment occupied by were comprized in but a small space
it occupied no more than a single Section, viz. §. 113
In this one Section however are included five distinguishable may be distinguished five different
provisions: viz.
1. All unclaimed shares of Soldiers serving in any conjunct
expedition with his Majesty's Naval Forces, as
described in this Act, shall be paid (it says) to the Treasurer
of the said Hospital for the use of the said Hospital.
2. Time for payment, "within six months" (it continues) after distribution commenced.
"Subject nevertheless to be refunded to any individual
"entitled to the same, and establishing his claim
"thereto, within six years from such payment to the said
"Treasurer": i.e. Those within which the money a man's share is receivable
from this Hospital, six years reckoning from the day on which it
was paid in to the Hospital.
4. Power to the Chelsea Treasurer over Army Agents, the
same as that of the Greenwich Treasurer over "Naval
"Prize Agents" for compelling them "to exhibit and
verify their Accounts.
5. So for compelling them to "pay over ... Balances"
into his hands.
6. For discovering and and compelling .... payment
"of all shares of "Soldiers so remaining unpaid, in this
or any former war like power to the High Court of Admiralty
like power as in case of "Mariners".
