X. Proper and ends

Ends of the distributive branch of law – ends or
purposes to the fulfilment or attainment or fulfilment
or accomplishment of which this branch of law
ought to be principally directed to have for its principal objectssecurity,
subsistence, abundance
and equality.

Security in the mention made of security, a
tacit but necessary reference is made to the several
sorts classes of injuries i.e. offences against individuals other than the man himself to which every individual stands
exposed. Security is security against mischief – against
evil from what ever quarter it may happen to be
come, and against whatsoever possession of a man's possession or part
valuable part of the human frame it may happen
to it to be directed or be .

On this occasion the point quarter in which the great difficult is consists lies in the
drawing tracing the lines of distinction by which these several objects fictitious entities are
separated from each other. B Of subsistence and
abundance the matter is the same here one and the same matter: and that the matter of

to subsistence and abundance. Security of against
mischief to which human
life, person, reputation
property i.e. the
matter of wealth considered
as lodged with
bounds of the individual
or assemblage of individuals in question and condition in life. Security is in divisable into as many branches as there are defined
sorts of offences or mischievous acts by which pro tanto. In another direction pro tanto security is destroyed or endangered.
