is contributing to happiness is contradistinguished from the matter of subsistence in those distinguishable ways,
or capacities. 1. as contributing in a direct way to enjoyment in a degree
over and above what could be contributed by the mere

way to security, to wit by its capacity of being given a rating
serving in the way of exchange for the obtainment of
the efficient instruments of security in men of these shapes: 3.
as eventually contributing in the same indirect way to subsistence.
