Art. 4. (late ) Inserendum ad

Provided also that if at any time there should not be a number
so many during the continuance of that contract there should not be
so many as a thousand Prisoners Convicts capable of being delivered to
the charge of such Governor as aforesaid under the powers given by the said Acts
that then a deduction shall be made at the rate of £12 a
year for a head for any Convict whatever number
the said sum of allowance of £12,000 shall be reduced in proportion
to the number difference between the said number of
1000 and the number so capable of being delivered as aforesaid, yet
so as such deduction shall not amount to more than £6000
in any one year.
