Land proposed to be taken
1. Land lately in the occupation of Mr Povey
2. 5 Acres of the land now in the occupation of Mr White Hodges.
3. The Slip of land now in the occupation of Mr White.
Term 21 years if the Landlords or either of them so long live Mr Cooke having reserved
to him the power of refusing it at the end of
the first 14 years –
Rent –
For the first 7 years £10 pr acre – for the 2d Seven
years 12£ pr acre for the 3d 7 years £14 pr acre –
Conditions –
Should the land be required for the public service
Mr Cooke to quit upon receiving one months
notice – or if the whole or any part of it
be wanted for building upon to be quitted upon at
6 moth months notice being given.
In the centre of the Slip how held by
Mr White, Mr Cooke to have a portion allotted
to him not exceeding Roods upon which he covenants to expend £
in the building of a House, and this part is
not to be resumed either for the Penitentiary
House or for building upon, but upon Mr
Cooke's being paid £500 if any such resumption
should take place any time within the first
year after the building such House, £ if within
the 2d year, & so diminishing th part for every
year during which Mr Cooke may keep hold
possession of the premises previous to any
such resumption.
And if any portion the land be resumed
for either of the above two purposes before the
