with each other who as it proved were more or
less known to my pious friend: in my way
from Queen's Square Place to that same
Great George Street, not doubting of their intention
to go to the utmost length of propriety in
promoting on that occasion as well as others
the design in which they had taken so active an
interest I kept plying them with proposals and
questions having for their object the checking from
them whatsoever information lay within their
Knowledge & afforded a chance of contributing to
promote it. How annoying to him this sort of address
on my part may be conceived without much
difficulty. To my pious friend the above-
mentioned recontre presented the means nor
was he backward in availing of it: with the
couple in question it was manifest that he
had nothing that would admit of the name of
business — if they appeared in appearance
they were of a rank much inferior this own:
